Tornado In A Bottle

Needed:

1- 16 oz clear plastic soda bottle with a cap (the rounder the bottom the better the tornado)
2 drops clear liquid dish detergent
1 tsp. glitter

Directions:

Fill the bottle with cold water. Add liquid dish detergent and glitter to the bottle. Screw on the cap tightly. Holding the bottle by the neck, turn it upside down. Quickly rotate your wrist several times in a clockwise motion. When you stop rotating, a min-tornado will form inside the bottle. Using permanent markers, you can draw a picture of a city or landscape around the bottom of the plastic bottle. Add a few drops of blue food coloring to the bottle to create a sky effect.

Amazing Bubbles

Needed:

2.5 quarts water
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1 cup liquid dish detergent

Directions:

Mix water and corn syrup together until completely blended. Gently stir in the liquid detergent. These will store for several weeks in an airtight container. You can create bubbles in different sizes using items like a plastic strawberry basket or a wire whisk.

Invisible Ink

Needed:

2 Tbs. pure lemon juice
Cotton swab

Directions:

Pour lemon juice into a small glass or plastic dish. Soak one end of the cotton swab to write a secret message or draw a picture on a sheet of paper. When you are ready to view your secret message have an adult hold the sheet of paper near a light bulb. The heat will slowly turn the lemon juice dark brown and reveal a hidden message.

Edible Play Dough

Needed:

1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup dry milk
1/2 Tbs. honey
Plastic zip bag

Directions:

Pour peanut butter, dry milk, and honey into a plastic zip bag. Close bag and knead until mixture turns to dough. Do not reuse or store this dough. You can use raisins and assorted candies to add eyes, mouths, and other features to your edible creations.

Pudding Paint

Needed:

1 large package of instant vanilla pudding (3.4 oz)
2 cups ice-cold water
Food coloring

Directions:

Whisk water and instant pudding together in a bowl for two minutes. Refrigerate for five minutes. Divide into several small bowls or muffin tins. Add 5-7 drops of food coloring to each bowl or tin and mix. You can paint with a brush or use them as finger paints.

Sidewalk Paint

Items Needed:

1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water
6-8 drops food coloring

Directions:

Mix cornstarch and cold water together in a small bowl. Add food coloring and stir. Repeat the process to create different colors of paint. This paint can easily be washed away with water. You can use it to make hopscotch grids, cakewalks, even make believe roads and highways for toy cars.

Silly Puddy

Items Needed:

1 Tbs. liquid starch
Food coloring
2 Tbs. white glue
Plastic Easter egg or zip bag

Directions:

Mix white glue and food coloring together in a small bowl. Pour liquid starch into a second small bowl. Slowly pour the glue mixture on top of the liquid starch. Allow the concoction to stand for 5 minutes or until the glue absorbs the liquid starch. Remove putty from bowl and knead. At first this mixture may look as if it’s a mistake, but it isn’t. The more you knead the putty, the better the consistency will be. Store in a plastic Easter egg or zip bag. You can roil this on newspaper comics or pictures printed with an ink jet printer. Slowly pull the putty off of the paper. The picture will transfer magically.

Scratch And Sniff Watercolors

Needed:

1 Tbs. unsweetened powdered drink mix
1 Tbs. warm water
Several small containers (muffin tins work really well!)

Directions:

Mix water and unsweetened drink mix together in a small bowl. Repeat this step several times, using various flavors of drink mix to create different colors of paint. Allow finished works to dry overnight before scratching and sniffing.

Sparklers Party Drink

Ingredients:

Oranges, cherries, 1 pint orange or lemon sherbet, 1 quart orange juice, 1 quart ginger ale, whisk or large spoon.

Directions:

A couple of hours before your party, combine the juice and ginger ale in a large bowl. Keep it cold in the refrigerator. Cut up the oranges in pretty slices, cover them and place in refrigerator.

Just before your about to serve, drop the sherbet into the juice. Whip it into a frosty fizz. Sprinkle your fruit into the bowl. The amounts given serve about 6 people.

Egg Cream Party Drink

Ingredients:

a tall glass for each drink, 2/3 cup of club soda for each drink, 1/3 cup of milk for each drink, chocolate syrup.

Directions:

Fill a big glass with club soda, milk and add as much chocolate syrup as you like. Stir it with a spoon... That's it! Its delicious!

Strange Corn

Ingredients:

a large bag of plain popped corn (about 3 quarts), 1/2 cup butter or margerine, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, 1 cup of whole pecans or mixed nuts.

Directions:

Let the butter come to room temperature, then wisk the brown sugar into it. In a separate bowl, combine the popcorn and pecans. Mix it with the butter and sugar. Spread it in a baking pan.

Get an adult to bake the mixture in a 350 degree oven for about eigth minutes. Cool and eat.

Breakfast Pizza

Ingredients:

2 slices of cheddar cheese, 2 slices of mozzarella cheese, 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese, 1 Boboli or pita bread, 2 eggs.

Directions:

Preheat over to 300 degree's. Place the cheese on bread and in oven until the cheese completely melts. Cook the eggs in your desired way and place the eggs on top of the melted cheese. Each pizza can serve one to two kids.

Sparkling Punch

Ingredients:

Pineapple juice, cranberry juice, ginger ale, club soda, fruit slices

Directions:

Mix them together to taste and add fruit slices

Bears In the Mudd

Ingredients:
Graham bears, peanut butter, syrup

Directions:
Mix small amount of syrup with peanut butter and give children little bears to walk in the
mudd and then eat

Pigs In A Blanket

Ingredients:
Crescent rolls and cocktail wieners

Directions:
Cut each can of rolls in half,roll in wiener and bake 12-15 minutes until brown

Squishes

Add a table spoon of powdered jello in a ziplock bag, have children dip large
marshmellows in water and add to bag and shake! mmm mmm good.

Dinosour Sandwich

Cut peanut butter sandwich in a triangle shape. Add tortilla chips for spikes, 1/2 banana
cut lengthwise for neck and raisins for eyes

Butterfly Bites

Ingredients:
1 celery cut in fourths, 8 small twisted pretzels, 8 pretzel sticks, cream cheese.

Directions:
Spread cream cheese in celery. Stick in twisted pretzels for wings. Put pretzel sticks in front for antennas.

Worms In Dirt

Give child 2 oreo cookies in a baggie, let them crush and dump into small paper cups
and add gummie bugs or worms and enjoy!!!!!!

Spiders

Ingredients:
Oval crackers, soft cream cheese or peanut butter, Raw Chinese noodles or pretzel sticks, raisins or chocolate chips.

Directions:
Spread peanut butter or cream cheese on cracker for body, stick 8 noodles or pretzel sticks on the sides for legs and decorate with raisins or chocolate chips.
